New project submissions

We are always looking for new projects to support. If you would like to suggest your organization to the McKinsey for Children charity, please mckinsey-for-children [at] (get in touch) with us.

The selection criteria for our projects are very rigorous. The main criteria include:

  • The project focuses on orphaned, abandoned, aggrieved, abused, or disabled children with respect to basic needs
  • The project is located in countries/regions characterized by poverty
  • The target is to make a material and sustainable change to the beneficiaries’ situation (i.e., not only infrastructural investment)
  • Project involvement can be medium to long term
  • Administrative cost ratio is (<15 percent of total budget)
  • There is transparency on use of McKinsey for Children funds and impact
    • Discrete, traceable project plan and budget (no funding pool with other sponsors)
    • Quarterly reporting (progress report, financial report, selective beneficiary profiles)
    • Possibility to conduct site visits, incl. financial audit
